Standards of Excellence
To achieve top scores in dog shows, the dog must be well-balanced. Not only is the dog scored on physical attributes and coloring, it also must display a free spirit with a charming, gentle, and affectionate character. Only dog breeds that are recognized by official Kennel Clubs including the AKC can compete; these dogs are then measured against the standard for their breed.
